Spring has finally arrived! What better way to celebrate than to visit another charming and magical park in Paris. The Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is located in the 19th arrondissement, which is in northeastern Paris. I’d say this park is somewhere between the Jardin du Luxembourg and Parc Monceau in terms of charm, jaw-dropping beauty, and sense of magic. It’s definitely one of my favorite parks in the world. Let’s wander around!
Whenever I travel, I always try to find a great sushi restaurant. I’ve found some excellent places, but also a few duds. I thought it would be helpful to write reviews about my experiences in case you ever travel to these cities and are craving some sushi.
First, let’s eat some sushi at my favorite sushi place in Paris!
I recently visited Disneyland Paris during the holidays with the aim of not only taking in the parks (or “parcs” as they say in France) in all their holiday splendor, but also to experience the bounties of the Sunday brunch buffet at Inventions restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel. Today, let’s travel to Paris to see what the Inventions buffet has to offer for brunch.
I first read about this buffet in a review about five years ago on the Disney Food Blog. Looking at the photos of this buffet, where food is treated and displayed like works of art, made me understand what Tina Fey as Liz Lemon meant on 30 Rock when she said the phrase “I want to go to there”. I mean, this buffet is glorious! Before we check out the food, let’s set the scene.
Since the restaurant is located within the Disneyland Hotel, you don’t have to worry about buying a ticket for the parks to eat at this wonderful restaurant. Disneyland Paris is unique in that the Disneyland Hotel also serves as the entrance for Disneyland Park, so you’re never too far away from the rides and entertainment.
However, during my visit with some friends, our only goal this day was to eat brunch at the buffet, and we saved lots of room by barely eating any breakfast. Our anticipation for our leisurely meal was heightened as we approached the Disneyland Hotel.
It’s time to visit another beautiful park in Paris! This time, we’ll travel to Parc Monceau in the 8th arrondissement. While not as extravagant as the Jardin du Luxembourg, Parc Monceau is still a large and lovely park, with unique elements that make it worthwhile to visit.
The park is quite easy to get to, just take the Metro to the Monceau stop and the entrance to the park is just though the elaborate gates on your left.
If you’re curious about its history, make sure to read the signs at the gate entrances.
Entering the park, it doesn’t look that special or unique, but as you take your time to meander around, you’ll find charming little areas in the park.
First, you arrive at this charming bridge.
This spring-like weather is making me wistful for spring in Paris, where the flowers are in full bloom, the fountains are crowded with families sailing their toy boats, and the colors are vibrant and diverse, from the glorious blue of the sky, the reds, pinks, yellows, and purples of the flowers, and the greens of the lush gardens and grass.
Paris is the perfect place to visit if you love gardens and parks, since it offers so many beautifully maintained parks.
Today, let’s visit the grandest, most impressive park in Paris, the Jardin du Luxembourg, my own personal favorite out of all the parks in Paris.
First, how can this garden not be beautiful, I mean, it has the word “luxe” in its name! Continue reading “Parks of Paris: Jardin du Luxembourg”
