The most Parisian afternoon tea in Boston

When I visited a college friend in San Diego a few years ago, she invited me to attend her work colleague’s birthday party at the Ritz for afternoon tea. At this point in time, I was not the tea aficionada that I am now, and I had no idea of any the refined rituals afternoon tea entailed. Well, one look at the fancy setting, the carefully curated selection of loose teas, the delicate teapots and teacups, plus everyone taking their manners up a notch, and I was hooked for life!

Ever since then, I love going for afternoon tea both locally and when I travel. One of the poshest that I’ve found in Boston is at the Taj Boston. It’s difficult to tell in this photo, but inside is the poshest place in Boston to have afternoon tea.

What fantastic place do they serve afternoon tea while at the Taj? Well, of course in the French Room, surrounded by chandeliers, upholstered sofas and chairs, and fine china!
